Dates in History

" History teaches us that men and nations
behave wisely once they have exhausted
             all other alternatives."

Back to school, back to slavery, back in history !

We believe that history is one of mankind's most fascinating subjects.
It consists of years and years of events which have or have not shaped our lives. So much has transpired that researchers are spending hours, weeks, months and years unearthing part of the World's history. Even when we look back we see the progress we have made in the last century. Unbelievable progress in so many ways that not one person could or can recall all that has taken place from 1901 to 2000.

Our idea here is for all our visitors to help us construct a timetable of the most memorable events which have taken place since the year dot. Well, as there really is no year 'dot', we would like to start from 100 BC and work our way through history. For most of us this should be one extraordinary journey which should keep you away from watching 'Big Brother' every day.
There are no rules when or where to start, or how many dates you can provide, or how fast we finish this task. All we really wish to record is the most significant event that took place in each one of all these years. As an example, we know that the Battle of Hastings was in the years 1066. There you are we have a start.

Some of the following pages will be named by the century applicable, ie. 100BC to 0 will cover the first 100 entries. 01AD to 100AD covers the next century and so on. We need to ask you to submit only genuine material.
Events which have been documented in history including discoveries, inventions, wars or significant battles, end of slavery etc. are our target.
If you see an event already posted for a certain year, and your event was more significant, then please tell us and we will correct the entry. There won't be any prizes for anyone, just the satisfaction that we may be compiling a list of 21 pages of earth shattering events.
Ok, it's now over to you to make your entries in the diary.
Send all the dates you can recall or discover directly to us.
